About Me: 100 Things
A list of 100 things about me. I’ve only made it to number 62, so this is a current work in progress. Perhaps I can eventually come up with 100 things.. who knows.
- I dislike coffee but I love cappuccinos.
- I enjoy all kinds of decorating and am very good with color schemes.
- Halloween is my favorite holiday because of the legends and masquerades.
- My favorite shopping place is a bookstore, any bookstore.
- I am not a shoe fanatic and I hate to wear socks.
- I do not like rings but any other type of jewelry is nice.
- My sense of fashion in sophisticated and casual, mostly jeans and blouses.
- I have over or close to 1,000 books in my collection, from over a period of at least 10 years, I eventually stopped counting.
- Occasionally I will buy jigsaw puzzles; I have put together a 500 piece in 24 hours.
- I love Monopoly and Catchphrase.
- My daily routine consists of browsing through a selection of webcomics and CNN.
- I own three iPods: a 1st gen 1GB Nano, 2nd gen 8GB Nano, and 80GB 5th gen Classic.
- My movies collection is extensive with close to 150 DVDs and growing.
- I am one of the few people who actually purchase music rather than pirate, but only on iTunes, never CDs.
- My parents were 30 years apart in age; my Dad passed away in early 2008.
- I was raised on a farm, working tobacco fields and produce stands during my teens and early 20s.
- I have been to Maryland three times since 2005, last trip I visited Washington, DC.
- I am an insane pack rat when it comes to books, notebooks, journals, and writing utensils.
- Quotations and proverbs are an interest of mine, I like trying to decipher the meaning behind them.
- I enjoy arts and crafts, anything that I can do by hand. Quilting and needlepoint are a couple favorites.
- I cannot draw or paint well, though I love and collect colored pencils, markers, any chance I can get.
- Make-up does not go over well with me. I rarely wear any kind save for the bare minimal when going out.
- I have a high dislike for overhead lighting; I prefer floor lamps, candles, or other forms of light source.
- I spent most of my early 20s on a MUD for RPing and chatting.
- I only log onto instant messengers if I think there may be someone to talk to, though that is rarely the case.
- Thunderstorms are my most favorite kind of weather, the stronger the better.
- I dislike the extreme hot and the extreme cold. Anything in the middle is just perfect.
- I tend to prefer digital graphics over any other kind of graphic work.
- I would like to become an amateur photographer, just as soon as I get a SLR camera.
- Green, and all shades in between, is my favorite color. Followed by vivid pink, cerulean blue, golden yellow, and silver.
- Vibrant colors are the most beautiful to me, especially when it comes to flowers.
- I am a non-traditionalist. I prefer things that are outside the box, if a bit odd and unusual.
- When I was a little girl, I collected stuffed teddy bears and porcelain dolls; then it was a TY Beanie Baby bear collection.
- All of my relationships have been long-distance in some form save for one or two.
- I have a hard time keeping friendships, rarely are any of them close enough to be the fabled ‘best friend’ connection.
- This leads me to consider just what, exactly, qualifies as a best friend. I always wondered about that label and if there is any real meaning behind it besides just being a label.
- I prefer hardwood floors over carpet.
- I hate talking on the phone.
- I spent three years in the 4-H club, went to camp and a leadership retreat. Came to realize it was a bunch of snobs who prefer certain people that I was not. Stopped attending during my sophomore year.
- Was an honor student during high school, but hung out with students that were not more often than those that were.
- I spent two years of high school in a journalism class that was for the school newspaper.
- All four years were spent being a part of the Spirit club, away football games and state basketball games were the best.
- I have an unreasonable fear of driving, perhaps it is because I have never felt in control over anything in my life and being able to actually control something is a little intimidating.
- For the last 10 to 12 years I have spent every single day on the computer, except for those times of vacation or when the weather was bad enough to knock off the power.
- I am a denial romantic. I love romance and all it entails, yet I only believe such things exist in fairytales and novels or movies.
- When I was a little girl, I took swimming lessons and promptly decided it was not for me. A couple years later I taught myself how to swim and I am now a fairly good swimmer.
- I have really huge trust issues when it comes to other people. I only believe things when they happen, not when someone says that it will happen.
- I secretly judge people as idiots when they overuse the computer lingo/slang during any kind of conversation. I prefer entire words instead of the abbreviated version.
- As much of a computer geek that I am, I do not know (nor do I use) any kind of keyboard or computer shortcuts.
- I tend to be apathetic towards myself; instead I focus on others and their opinions way too much.
- I love sunsets more than any other time of day. Beach sunsets are the ultimate beauty of any scenery.
- I secretly watch bridal shows in hopes of being able to one day plan and create my own wedding. Got to get ideas from somewhere!
- I am obsessed with blueberry or berry scented candles, incense, and oil fragrances.
- I am not a popular person. My personality is too quiet and subdued to draw any real interest from those around me. I tend to end up being the “third” wheel (or outsider) for any outing or party.
- I am not a neat person, nor am I organized. I end up losing more things than I can keep up with.
- I spend more money on books than I do on clothes and shoes.
- I don’t consider myself to be religious, though I’m mostly interested in two kinds; Wiccan/Pagan and Christianity.
- Though, oddly enough, I prefer to consider Dan Brown’s view of Christianity as he wrote it in “The Da Vinci Code” rather than the view of the Church itself.
- I really hate the time you spend waiting between “continuances”; like books in a series or “to be continued” television shows; after experiencing the latest of it and then waiting to see the next part, most annoying.
- I base all my life decisions on my surroundings and the people around me. I put others before myself first.
- I have yet to figure out for myself what it is that I want in life.
- Even though I tend to be a very “understanding” and empathetic type of person, I am also unreasonable when it comes to certain things. In relationships, I tend to be an “all or nothing” person so there’s a bit of strain in that situation.

interesting facts on you!
it was nice to ‘meet’ you, as i read some of the facts you posted, i was reminded of times in my own life. in particular the friendship/relationship related posts.
blessings to you as you keep discovering more interesting facts about yourself and why you have become who you are! isn’t it interesting how events/people/times in our life largely influences our characteristics?
that’s a huge reason why i love to read…books, blogs, anything!
i found it interesting that you would have interest in Wiccan/Pagan OR christianity. i’m a follower of Jesus. and beleive i would be SO lost without my faith. i love the idea of having a headship in my life. it’s amazing how it gives me freedom that most people can’t see. i’m special enough to be loved completely, but not special enough to be complete on my own. it’s weird how we all crave to belong, yet we reject the idea of belonging to HIM.
i hope that wasn’t too big a mouthful. LOL. my intent was not to push my thoughts on you, but to let you know where i am at in my life. it’s been a great journey in getting to this point. there was many earlier times of doubt in faith all together as well. i hope you are able to find faith in something!

Thanks Barbara!
I appreciate your comments and encouragement for me to find my own path. And I’m very happy for you in your path! I can imagine how great it is to be secure in the knowledge of your faith. Such a blessing. And it’s cool to browse around and meet new people on blogging. I’m getting the hang of it, and I like it. It’s a long road to discover who you are, and I’m still traveling. Picking my paths. Seeing what makes me me. It really is amazing how so many things can influence us into our lives and make us the person we become.
Thanks again for reading and sharing your thoughts!
